From the Airport to Turim Restauradores Hotel

Option 1: Take the bus 744 at Aeroporto (the stop is in front of the airport arrivals) to the stop Restauradores – the hotel is 190 metres walking distance (3 minutes)

Option 2: Take the red metro line at Aeroporto, change to the blue metro line at the São Sebastião station and stop to the station Restauradores – the hotel is 230 metres walking distance (3 minutes)

From Airport to Turim Marquês Hotel

Option 1: Take the bus 744 or bus 783 at Aeroporto (the stop in front of the airport arrivals) to the stop Marquês Pombal – the hotel is 250/550 metres walking distance (3/6 minutes)

Option 2: Take the red metro line at Aeroporto, change to the blue metro line at the São Sebastião station and stop to the station Marquês de Pombal – the hotel is 300 metres walking distance (4 minutes)

Taxis are available in front of the terminal; the journey should cost you about 15€ and last about 15 minutes depending on traffic.

From Estação do Oriente (international trains and buses) to the Hotel

Take the red metro line at Oriente, change to the blue metro line at the São Sebastião station and stop to the station Restauradores – the hotel is 230 metres walking distance (3 minutes)

Turim Marquês Hotel

Take the red metro line at Oriente, change to the blue metro line at the São Sebastião station and stop to the station Marquês de Pombal – the hotel is 300 metres walking distance (4 minutes)

From the Hotel to the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II (TNDM II)

The Hotels with negotiated rate are within walking distance of the conference venue. You can easily walk the distance to other places of interest as well. The hotels and the conference venue are both downtown.

Turim Restauradores Hotel is 450 metres walking distance (about 6 minutes).

Turim Marquês Hotel is 1500 metres walking distance (about 17 minutes). You can also make this trip in 9 minutes taking the blue metro line.

From the Conference Venue to Municipal Theatre Joaquim Benite – Almada (Saturday Performance)

Take the green metro line at Rossio station to Cais do Sodré station (you can also walk this distance in about 20 minutes). At the fluvial station of Cais do Sodré take the boat to Cacilhas. In Cacilhas you can take the subway to S. João Baptista stop – Municipal Theatre Joaquim Benite is 500 meters walking distance (6 minutes). Or walk the whole distance, from Cacilhas fluvial station to the Theater, about 1900 meters (25 minutes).

Lisbon is a walking city where (almost) every destination is at a walking distance. To use public transport, you need to buy a Viva Viagem Card in any Metro Station that costs 0,50€. The same card can be used for Metro, buses, boats, and trams if charged with «zapping » transport title type. Each metro and bus trip costs 1,50€. Each card can be charged with 3,00€ minimum. Each passenger must have its own card.

Arriving to Portugal by plane

As of July 1, 2022, passengers entering national territory (including Azores and Madeira) are no longer required to present proof of carrying out a test to screen for SARS-CoV-2 infection with a negative result or to present a COVID-EU digital certificate or vaccination or recovery certificate issued by third countries, accepted or recognized in Portugal.

Before traveling, it is important to re-confirm the entry formalities and procedures with the airline company and the Portuguese border service.

Recommendations for restaurant & bars

You will find a large number of restaurants and coffees near Teatro Nacional D. Maria II:
Rua das Portas de Santo Antão, Rossio, Praça da Figueira, Praça Martim Moniz.
Service is always included in restaurants, although waiters happily accept tips. Prices already include taxes.
Most restaurants bring starters to the table when you arrive. These are not free. Let the waiter know if you do not want them.
Finally, most restaurants and bars are smoke free. However, smoke is permitted on outdoor patios. Please check with the restaurants.
