2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Jon Fosse’s debut as a dramatist – and his 60th birthday. Det Norske Teatret will celebrate these anniversaries with 3 Fosse premieres this autumn, as well as an International Fosse Festival from 6 to 15 September with guest performances from Russia, France, Sweden and Japan.
One of the highlights will be the stage premiere of Fosse’s renowned novel Trilogy, for which he was awarded the 2015 Nordic Prize for Literature. Trilogy will be directed by Luc Perceval and will visit Schauspiel Frankfurt on 23 and 24 October.
Our Norwegian–German collaboration project with Schauspiel Hannover, Einer von uns. Spurensuche nach dem 22. Juli 2011, can be seen at the Biennale Theater Hanse in Stralsund 28 September, before the Norwegian premiere in Oslo on 22 November.
Other highlights in the autumn 2019 are Raskolnikov based on Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, Tschick directed by Mina Salehpour and a grand production of Roald Dahls’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
