International Forum for Art and Sustainability takes place in Taipei, Taiwan, on 8 & 9 December 2022.
The European Theatre Convention and other world-renowned art organisations were invited to present their insights and operation strategies to learn from each other and inspire new sustainable actions.
Taipei National University of the Arts is an important base for nurturing Taiwanese students who show talent in the arts. This year is the school's 40th anniversary. In response to the trend of taking action against global climate change, we are hosting an "International Forum for Art and Sustainability."
The goal is to promote the communication and conversation between local and international art and culture sectors in order to inspire more sustainable creativity and actions. More than twenty professionals and experts of sustainable arts from overseas as well as from local art and culture sectors are invited. Over two days, seven major themes on the feasibility and the future development of art sustainability are discussed in-depth.
Heidi Wiley, Executive Director of the European Theatre Convention (ETC), and Michaela Rýgrová, ETC Sustainability advisor, were invited to join the Forum 1 - Sustainable Theatre Operations, on the 8th of December, together with the Sydney Opera House (Australia), the National Taichung Theater (Taiwan), and the sustainable development consultancy organisation Ki Culture (The Netherlands).
