Staying Open and Safe

Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb/Croatia

Season 2020/2021

The Croatian National Theatre is planning to stay open and safe for its audience with a new inspiring opera, drama and ballet repertoire: from contemporary authors such as Haruki Murakami (Kafka on the shore), Elena Ferrante (My Brilliant Friend) Berislav Šipuš (Last intermezzo), Ivo van Hove (Death in Venice) to classic ones such as Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol (The Government Inspector), George Bizet (Carmen), Jacques Ofenbach (Fantasio), Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice) and Adolphe Adam (Giselle). The Croatian National Theatre is always in search of young authors and new voices to support, and this season we are planning to present two projects: one by Ivor Martinić and the other by the winner of our competition for the new contemporary drama text.
