Performance Exchange 2016

Sales Gosses
by Mihaela Michailov

Performance Exchange supported by ETC
Produced by: Théâtre de la Manufacture Nancy

She is eleven years old, has just entered high school but above all she wants to make a girafe, a rabbit or a bracelet using rubber bands. So she is not really interested in Greece, Athenian democracy, Socrate, Pericles, the polis, all those words the teacher writes on the board... One day, she is punished being bound by her teacher. Later, in the playground, violence is unleashed and students become tormenters in a real lynching. This incident turns into an anecdote and its video becomes viral on Youtube.

This play is based on a true story, related by Mihaela Michailov, roumanian playwright. Here she questions the brain formatting and the norm.

The french director Michel Didym makes one actress play every character, making us laugh or being flabbergasted. She is accompanied by two musicians.

This production was shown at National Theatre Timisoara. The production is available for touring.
