The Council of Ministers of Portugal has approved the reappointment of the Board of Directors of Dona Maria II National Theatre.
Rui Catarino remains as president, a position he has held since 2022, and Sofia Campos continues as a board member. To complete the team, Susana Ribeiro de Melo has been appointed the financial board member, a position that had been vacant since June 2024.
With a degree in Economics and a postgraduation in Cultural Management, Rui Catarino helds over 20 years of experience in the cultural sector. He has worked with different cultural institutions such as São Luiz Teatro Municipal, the Serralves Foundation, Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture, and EGEAC, and has been a guest lecturer at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School since 2008. As an advisor, he worked in the office of the Councillor for Culture of Lisbon’s City Council and in the office of the Secretary of State for Culture.
