An ongoing performing arts factory, a prevalence of productions over guest shows, a primacy of contemporary dramaturgy over classical, authoritative representatives of Italian and European directing art for a wide representative differentiation of styles, a planning oriented towards cultural risk and civic engagement. These are the peculiarities that emerge through the programme of the season 2019-2020 of Teatro Stabile of Torino.
We strongly believe that a theatre should be an open environment for the mixed community of audiences to whom it is directed; a theatre that, even without renouncing to a strong artistic identity, wants and must perform complementary and pluralist functions. Overall, we will present 74 shows in our venues – 14 of them will be new productions and 19 will compose of our autumn dance festival Torinodanza – and with these numbers we firmly confirm our theatre as the first Italian national theatre.
