Bomb Shelter Night

Dakh Theatre/Ukraine

[7 hours performance installation]

On August 26, 2022, the premier was held in the Det Norske Theatre, Oslo, with the support of The European Theatre Convention as a part of the Ukrainian programme:

"Ukraine...War...Death...Love"

When horrifying photos of destroyed houses, mutilated bodies from Ukraine are perceived as something ordinary, we suggest to move for a few hours to the usual night of almost every big city or small town in Ukraine. BOMB SHELTER NIGHT is a performance installation that takes place under live music, special sound installation with the reading of diaries, real stories of victims of a full-scale invasion. The audience are placed on mattresses and, somewhere between dream and reality, becomes an active participants, bringing to life documentary footage about the real war and personal tragedies. People understands that they are safe here, but a few thousand kilometres away, people are sitting in the same bomb shelter, but real.
