Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana

June 2025

Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana is pleased to announce a June calendar full of activities that underscore its commitment to artistic excellence, training, and community involvement. The highlight are the premiere of the new itinerant children's show "Quantas Meninices!" (‘How Many Childhoods!’), aimed at Pre-School Education establishments, and the public presentation of the work developed in the Regular Theatre Workshops, which will take place on June 28th, celebrating the talent and dedication of 100 participants of all ages.

Premiere for school audiences: "Quantas Meninices!" (‘How Many Childhoods!’)

Reinforcing its commitment to developing new audiences and cultural decentralisation, Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana presents "Quantas Meninices!" (‘How Many Childhoods!’). This show, specially designed for Pre-School Education establishments in the Viana do Castelo district, will tour schools from June 2nd to 27th, Monday to Friday, with two daily sessions. The initiative, free for Public Schools, invites the youngest to playfully reflect on issues of identity and perception:

Are all children the same?
And what is an adult?
And is a child also a person?
Why am I the way I am?
And how am I to other people?
After all, how many childish antics are there?
So many!

This production aims to stimulate imagination and critical thinking from early childhood, bringing theatre directly to its audience.

Final Presentation of the Community Project Regular Theatre Workshops

In June, the stage of the Sá de Miranda Municipal Theatre will be the setting for the culmination of a year of learning and creation in the Community Project Regular Theatre Workshops. 100 students of various age groups will present the shows they have prepared to the public, demonstrating their acquired skills and passion for Theatre.
