National Theatre Prague/Czech Republic

directed by Jan Frič

Maxim Gorky´s play Vassa Zheleznovova directed by Jan Frič (National Theatre – The Estates Theatre) became The Best Production of 2021 in frames of The Theater Critics' Awards. The Theatre Critics’ Awards are traditionally based on the sum of votes in a survey held by Svět a divadlo magazine. We are very pleased to welcome participants of the ETC Conference to its first performance with English subtitles on Friday 15 May 2022.

About the play:

Vassa Zheleznova is a mother.
Vassa Zheleznova’s husband is dying.
Vassa Zheleznova’s children are no good.
Luckily, her oldest daughter returns from abroad and perhaps could set things right.
