The 2019/20 season of Schauspiel Dortmund will kick off with three productions. One of them is the new performance of theatre director Kay Voges and his ensemble: PLAY / Abriss einer Reise (“PLAY / Summary of a Journey”), which will start in October 2019. Kay Voges will guide his actors back to some characters that have taken the stage in Dortmund before: Adam and Eve, Hamlet, Ophelia, Nora, Peer Gynt, Margarita, Woyzeck or Lum and Purl. Hundreds of voices have resounded here in the last ten years. And what if we could see all these moments again, simultaneously onstage, like a world behind the mirror?
Inspired by the legendary collage Histoire(s) du cinéma by French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard, Voges and his ensemble will go on a search to find something new developing when yesterday and today collide.
