Open Call: Residency at the National Theatre of Greece

National Theatre of Greece

Deadline: 10 February 2024

The National Theatre of Greece is inaugurating a new grant for emerging theatre artists. Three residencies are going to be provided to three European-based artists. Playwrights, directors and dramaturgs up to the age of 39 are eligible to apply.

The Residency Programme offers placements of 75 days.

All three residencies will take place during the time frame of March to July 2024.

The selected artists will join the creative team of the National Theatre of Greece. The NTG encourages its artists-in-residence to develop their practices in depth and breadth by providing them with the time, space, facilities, and expertise required to further expand their research and spheres of interest. The participants will also receive guidance and support from mentors and staff of the NTG and the opportunity to dive into collaborative projects and experimentation. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to experience the city of Athens and its cultural life, to meet and work with Greek artists, and to be part of a vivid artistic community. The three resident artists will collaborate with each other as well as with artists from the National Theatre.

The Residency Programme is a scholarship that supports international cooperation. It does not offer a paid position at the National Theatre of Greece.
