The Guillermo Heras Summer School for Actors is back in 2025 and applications are now open. This year’s edition, which will take place from July 28 to August 7, will be dedicated to the theme ‘The Theatre of Pina Bausch’, in the year in which the legendary dancer would have turned 85 years old.
About the Summer School
Launched in 2015 by Spanish director Guillermo Heras, the Guillermo Heras Summer School for Actors is a 10-day creative laboratory dedicated to professional performers and theatre students, directed by artists of recognised national and international merit for each of the areas explored, according to the theme of each edition.
Organised by Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana, the Summer School takes place at the centenary Sá de Miranda Theatre, as an open residency regime and includes 11 nights of accommodation in Viana do Castelo for participants, providing a unique performing arts experience in Portugal.
Open to both national and foreign participants, the Summer School offers simultaneous translation in English, with a total of 16 places for participants, as well as 50 places for assistants who can register for free to watch the workshops from the audience of the Sá de Miranda Municipal Theatre.
