MNT Launches First Collaboration Through ETC Membership – Greek Director Emmanouil Konstantinidis in Artistic Residency

The Macedonian National Theatre proudly announces its first international collaboration since joining the European Theatre Convention (ETC) – the largest network of public theatres in Europe, bringing together 78 members from 31 countries. This membership opens new horizons for MNT in the fields of co-productions, artistic residencies, performance exchange, and European cultural projects.

The inaugural initiative is the artistic residency of Greek actor and director Emmanouil Konstantinidis, who will be based in Skopje until November 15. His residency began with a fruitful meeting with MNT’s General Manager, Mr. Nikola Kimovski, and an introduction to part of the theatre’s acting ensemble. Over the coming weeks, Konstantinidis will immerse himself in the theatre’s repertoire and later lead open workshops for actors, directors, choreographers, musicians, set designers, and theatre lovers – an invitation to learn, share, and create together.

About Emmanouil Konstantinidis

  • One of the most promising names in the contemporary Greek theatre.
  • Trained at the renowned Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School and Cours Florent in Paris.
  • Collaborated on productions across France and Greece, including the Athens Epidaurus Festival.
  • Known for experimental and poetic works such as Atlas, Albatross, I Want to Go Home, Creata, and Phenomenon.

Konstantinidis describes his artistic vision as deeply collaborative:

“Theatre is about creating together. Every production is a journey of ideas and discovery. I believe this residency will be a source of new perspectives and mutual inspiration.”

Through this residency, MNT begins a new European chapter, strengthening its role as a vibrant space for exchange, innovation, and cultural dialogue.
