In 2023, Jon Fosse received the Nobel Prize in Literature for his innovative drama and prose, which "gives voice to the unspeakable". From September 5 to 13, Det Norske Teatret (The Norwegian Theatre) opens a Fosse feast with Fosse's writing as a starting point.
There will be international guest performances, conversations, innovative productions, world premieres of new Fosse plays and an exciting festival profile of international stature.
The aim is to get to know the diverse writing of Jon Fosse - be surprised by new interpretations of his plays - and get to know new voices that follows in the wake of this great author and playwright.
This year DIFF has appointed a guest of honor, or festival profile, who will be central to marking the literary and dramatic tendencies in the wake of Jon Fosse. Édouard Louis is the first festival profile to be invited to DIFF and will influence both the artistic program and the discussions associated with the festival.
