Murder on the Orient Express

Cyprus Theatre Organisation

From 14 November 2025 onwards

Murder on the Orient Express, one of Agatha Christie’s most important works, is presented for the first time in Cyprus and on THOC’s Main Stage through the official stage adaptation of the novel by Ken Ludwig, directed with the experienced eye of Takis Tzamarias. A small gem of detective literature, first published in 1934 and adapted for the stage in 2017, the work contributed significantly to establishing Christie as the “Queen of Mystery”.

This dark, puzzling, and at the same time comedic stage composition highlights the timeless ambiguity between truth and falsehood, the trap of appearances, and the revelation of what lies beneath.

Thirteen exceptional actors — both well-known performers and emerging talents — take on the roles of the victim, the many suspects, and the single culprit. The legendary Poirot is portrayed by Neoklis Neokleous.

Following the successful resolution of a previous case, the renowned Belgian detective Hercule Poirot embarks on his return journey from Constantinople to London aboard the luxurious Orient Express. When a severe snowstorm forces the train to come to a halt, the journey is overshadowed by a murder. The discovery of the body heightens the tension, prompting the meticulous Poirot to take on the task of uncovering the mystery.
