‘Krasnojarsk’ Wins Major Theatre Prize in Austria

Schauspielhaus Graz

This November, the Nestroy Awards were presented for the 22nd time in Vienna for the best theatre performances in Austria and German-speaking countries. The award ceremony took place as a TV broadcast without an audience at the Theater an der Wien due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the 3-week lockdown imposed in Austria.

Schauspielhaus Graz is pleased to have won two Nestroy Theatre Awards 2021. The VR production "Krasnoyarsk: An End Time Journey in 360°" was awarded the "Corona Special Prize".

The staging of an end-time journey, which can be experienced from the sofa via virtual reality glasses, was supported by 1000 EUR in funding through ETC’s Digital Grants.

In addition, author Thomas Köck's "dritte republik (eine vermessung)" directed by Anita Vulesica won in the category "Best Federal Performance".
