ETC to Launch Second Landmark Study on Gender Equality in Theatres

The highly anticipated follow-up study, set to conclude in summer 2024, promises to deliver crucial insights on gender equality in theatre.

ETC is set to launch the second study on 'Gender Equality & Diversity in European Theatres' and invites Member Theatres to actively contribute to this important initiative.

The first edition of this study published in 2021 marked a significant milestone, shedding light on gender diversity in theatres and generating widespread media attention.

The follow-up study is slated to assess the progress made since then in the membership, across all ETC theatres. The study is due to be finalised in summer 2024 and its results will be shared as part of a European campaign in autumn 2024.

This new research aims to update and expand on the findings from the first edition. The study will encompass an overview of European research and reports on gender equality and diversity in the theatre sector, a qualitative survey based on interviews, and policy recommendations.
