With Amore, Pippo Delbono shares with us an intimate drama that embraces us with bold vitality and utters a great cry of love as a formidable attempt to bring life inside the theatre!
Author, actor and director Pippo Delbono returns to the Théâtre de Liège to present Amore, an experience of sheer poetry, a brutal caress that expresses the artist's need to question love to soften the pain.
After Vangelo and La Gioia, he takes us deep into our bodies and awakens our hearts in an intimate and silent explosion. He sets off on a lyrical and musical journey in search of the word love. He begins his journey in Portugal, passing through Angola and Cape Verde, and entrusts to music what words cannot or will not say. The melancholic notes of the Fado tell of both beauty and pain, and spread through the voices of the singers, projected to reach every corner of the room. The rhythm is sometimes a parade, sometimes a living portrait, sometimes a slow procession.
The music is punctuated by the words of poets that Pippo Delbono's harrowing voice declaims offstage, while the silent chorus of actors creates the images of a human comedy.Amore takes us to the heart of a real feeling map that upsets our emotions and contradictions.
