Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana opens the international call for Guillermo Heras Acting Summer School 2025 invited artist, which will take place from 28 July to 07 August 2025, at the Teatro Municipal Sá de Miranda, in Viana do Castelo, dedicated to the theme “The Theatre of Pina Bausch”, in the year in which the legendary dancer would have turned 85 years old.

What?
Launched in 2015 by Spanish director Guillermo Heras, the Guillermo Heras Acting Summer School is a 10-day creative laboratory dedicated to professional performers and theater students, directed by artists of recognized national and international merit for each of the areas explored, according to the theme of each edition.

It happens at the centenary Teatro Municipal Sá de Miranda, as an open residency regime and includes 11 nights of accommodation in Viana do Castelo for participants, providing an unique performing arts experience in Portugal.

Who?
The confirmed artists of the 2025 edition are:

  • Albano Jerónimo (PT) / Teatro Nacional XXI (POR)
  • Alexandra Moreira da Silva (PT) / Institut d’ Études Théâtrales – Université Sorbonne Paris – III (FRA)
  • Isabel Barros (PT) / Balleteatro / Teatro de Marionetas do Porto (POR)
  • Ricardo Simões (PT)/ Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana (POR)
  • Sara Belo (PT)/ Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema – Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa (POR)

How?
The selected artist will be invited to lead three work sessions of 2 hours, with a group of up to 25 participants.

In addition to travel, accommodation and food, the payment of a fee to be agreed upon as fees is also guaranteed.

Applications must be sent by email to geral@tmsm.pt, indicating the reference “EVA2025” in the “Subject” field, until 00:00 of 28 February 2025.
