Who takes care of whom?
Lou wears their gold friendship necklace, Ginny a neck brace. Lou goes out dancing, Ginny has to stay in bed. Lou is heartbroken over Jessy from 4B, Ginny is in the ICU with a broken nervous system. The worst part: Lou is a much better friend than Ginny could ever be. Because Lou always carries Ginny's bags and breaks up with Jessy in a really dramatic way when she laughs at Ginny's neck brace. Lou takes care of her and she is too sick to do anything in return. She is simply a burden to Lou's non-spastic leg.
But doesn't Ginny take care of Lou too? Is Lou really as 'okay' as she looks? Do you have to give and take equally in a friendship? And how can you be young together if one of you already feels very old?
