Leading the way for European Theatres to become climate neutral by 2030
ETC's Sustainable Theatre Programme
ETC's Sustainable Theatre Programme support the ETC Membership on the journey to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030 across productions, buildings, and operations.
This ambitious programme combines expert mentoring, peer-to-peer learning, and the implementation of the ETC Theatre Green Book, empowering theatres to embed sustainable practices at every level of their organisation.
Participating theatres will be supported to measure, monitor, and demonstrate their progress through the ETC Theatre Green Book Self-Certification process, helping them turn climate commitments into measurable action.

Apply for Collaboration & Development Grants
ETC is offering grants of €4,500 each to support ETC member theatres in developing collaborative projects towards climate neutrality. This grant aims to encourage creative and flexible collaborations among ETC member theatres that explore, test, or implement aspects of the ETC Theatre Green Book — whether in buildings, productions, or operations. We want to give you the space to experiment, exchange ideas, and strengthen your sustainability journey.

Five-Part Sustainability Workshop Webinar Series
Whether you have been part of the existing sustainability focus groups, or are completely new to your environmental sustainability journey, please do join us for this workshop series. You are welcome to come to all sessions, or just one or two, depending on your interest and role. Please do forward this to your colleagues, especially if there is a workshop in their field of work.

The workshops will be held online and in English. They will be hosted by Paddy Dillon and Lisa Burger from Renew Culture and Laura Sedgwick from Theatre Green Book.
In each workshop, we will hear from three speakers, with plenty of time afterwards for questions and break-out room discussions. Please come prepared to share your sustainable changes made so far, your challenges, your questions, and any thoughts on what your next steps might be. Webinar registration will close three working days before each workshop date.
